The best selling album of all time is Michael Jackson’s Thriller with sales nearing the 50 million mark. For a group, the best selling album is the Eagles' Greatest Hits with 24 million sold.

The best selling debut album by anyone belongs to Alanis Morisette whose Jagged Little Pill has reached over 27 million.

For soundtracks, the best seller is Saturday Night Fever with sales over 30 million.

And the fastest selling album of all time? It moved 4 million copies in six days. It was John Fitzgerald Kennedy-A Memorial Album.

The fastest selling single was Band Aid’s Do They Know It’s Christmas, which has sales of 1.6 million in its first week.
